Actually you're dead wrong about fires, the burning of a forest is good for wildlife. Anyone who hunts deer or quail in the forest knows a few years after a burn there will be more wildlife.

The lions are coming into urban areas to feed because the killing is easy, not because they don't have enough range.

Mark, Fuck this thread, I've encountered way too many Asian drivers in my area today to read all this crap. I read the first post and can't agree more. I can't imagine what the rest says. Fish, animals, whatever it may be; if you kill it for no reason, you must seriously have no life, skills or use for your time. Rather than even get worked up about it, it's almost better to feel sorry for some people. I am willing to bet that our grandfathers before us who practiced hunting would be sick by some of the practices around here. Ignorance must be a bitch, that's all I can conclude

I never said that fires weren't good for wildlife...in the long run. However, it's the intervening "few years" that it takes for the land to recover that I was arguing that prey for predators can become scarce.

Out here in east county the opposite is true. As soon as the fires come through. In 2 months theres a rabbit population explosion.
