| Re: Looking for a 9mm
I have shot a lot of good guns in my short time on this planet and have even had to use a few for real. When my life depends on it, I prefer a 1911 in .45+P. Plenty of knockdown power in a weapon that I am extremely confortable with. That been said a close second to my 1911 would be my USP40.
I honestly think that the most important point here should be the fact that its not the weapon or caliber that matters, its the skill of the one using it. In my opinion I wouldnt worry about ballistics at all, a well placed shot will drop a bad guy regardless of caliber.
That being said, I personally feel that a .45 has more stopping power and provides for a larger room for error in shot placement. My advice is whatever you decide to get, train with it as much as possible. This will guarantee your success in a slef-defense situation more then anything else.
