Places to hunt

I live in oceanside, and I am fairly new to this area. I am looking for some areas (general...not anyones sweet spots) that I can do some predator hunting. I have been camping in a couple of areas that I am sure hold some coyotes however, I am not sure what the regs are for shooting in these areas. Most of these areas were out northeast of julian near the anza borrego state park. Any help about places to go in the san diego area would be great.
