I shoot one of those now and I've been hunting since I was 10. I'll never grow up.

Jesse, get a Beretta 3" 390 auto with the synthetic stocks. Easy to clean and is gas charged. (don't kick like a mule) Stay away from the Bling guns for duck hunting with me. You may be crawling on the ground with it, climbing over toolies/bamboo and the dog is attracted to nice guns, he likes to shake water/mud all over them.

With todays loads a 3.5 is not necessary unless you have the $$..... IMO

Re: just got my licenses:)

I have both those guns. The 870 is an old standby that I have shot for over 15 years, reliable and durable as hell. But my 390 is the shit. I went with the 26" barrell and it's a killin machine.

Re: just got my licenses:)

I've had a few autos over the years, and put out 50 or so rounds thru just about every mainstream auto on the market.... I love my 390, less recoil & its really well balanced. The 390's are a little difficult to find new but they still make the 3901's which is pretty much the same gun. I like the 390's better than the new 391's which have a different gas system.
