| Local trail cameras?
Any of you guys ever used trail cameras up on the hill with good success? I need some help. I want to set up a couple cams and literally know nothing about them. Please recommend some models. I'd like to set up at least a couple so cost is a concern. $400 cams are not an option. My other main concern is theft. I need a way to lock them up. Any help is welcome.

My buddies in KY have them stolen off their private property all the time. This is on 40 acres behind the house. I wish you luck on public land. It might not be considered stealing in the eyes of the law if left "abandoned" on public land.
That being said, cuddeback. I know there are infrared models of trail cams that may be beneficial in that they have no visible flash to would be thieves.
Good luck, post your pictures.

Cabellas has one for about $125. Micahs got the same one. We put it up the other day. Went up 6 days later and no pics of anything but us. Deer did go thru the area but not on that game trail. Mike H. put it back up yesterday but in a different location (I think.) We just secured it with bundgee cords. Wallmart has them out here too. Takes pretty good pics and holds a bunch of pics.(chip) The battery runs out before the pics will.
side note.
Nate, one of my clients in NY just got back from Africa, 2 lions a wart hog and a zebra.

my hunting partner builds them for pretty cheap, and they're pretty nice. He has them set up so you can download the photos to your pc from a cell phone attached to the cam. I'll ask him how much he is getting for them, or if he is still making them

| Re: Local trail cameras? Theft...is the only reason I haven't hung one. I've read the Stealth cam's are a good cheap camera. I also read to stay away from the standard film cameras and go digital due to the developmental fees. |
