Banded Ross Goose

I was lucky enough to shoot two banded geese this year. A snow I shot at Wister was banded in the Nort West Terrotories and a Ross I shot in Saskatchewan was banded in Nanavut.

Re: Banded Ross Goose

Gotta love the jewelry...way to go. I had never shot a banded bird before this past season when I shot four honkers that sported six bands. Two of the birds were double banded with a regular band and a reward band on opposite legs. My first banded honker was double banded and that one is definitely getting mounted.

My buddy shot a banded honker this season as well that was banded in 1987...I guess it's luck finally ran out. All of our birds were shot near Cibola but originally banded in both Utah and Wyoming...

Mike,

We leave next month for the Spring smack down, it all depends on the weather. We need to be there as the ice on the ponds are starting to open up!
