I have told a bunch of you guys about the elk on my Mom's property in Montana. Here is the picture of a 200+ herd that is currently hanging out on it.

These are resident elk that hang out in Bridger canyon. There actually a couple of different herds about this size all over the valley right now, some wintering but most are locals. My mom doesn't usually see too many bulls in the winter for some reason. Come spring they atrt to come out of the woodwork.
My mom and her husband want some elk meat this next year so I'm heading up there to shoot one. There is a line of people who have offered to come help me do it........

wow. well that picture just made me feel like shit.
hunted elk this last november in montana. only had 5 full days to do it.
walked or shall i say climbed anywhere from 8 to god knows how many miles a day, to only see 5 cows on the 2nd day.
it wasnt a very good late season, no snow at all, and warm temperatures kept the elk in the trees. only saw 2 elk in the back of other hunters trucks. and there is alooooot of hunters in that area.
ohhh well. hopefully i get drawn again this year.
