hunted elk this last november in montana. only had 5 full days to do it.
walked or shall i say climbed anywhere from 8 to god knows how many miles a day, to only see 5 cows on the 2nd day.
it wasnt a very good late season, no snow at all, and warm temperatures kept the elk in the trees. only saw 2 elk in the back of other hunters trucks. and there is alooooot of hunters in that area.
ohhh well. hopefully i get drawn again this year.

That sounds very similar to my elk hunt this year in southern CO.
