Re: Local turkey hunters

Just thought about that today, when is the season this year? Do you know if there is a turkey day at Sutherland this year again?

Re: Local turkey hunters

They'll have a drawing for Sutherland. I think their tune-up is next month?

I like getiing out in the woods during that time of year. I always try and find new places to hunt for deer when archery season comes around.

Season starts:
March 31-May6 for gun
March 31-may 20th for bow.

Re: Local turkey hunters

Can't wait to go. Used to do it in FL, need to try it here. Just don't know where to go...

Wish Cuyamaca was Federal land. It's chock full turkeys. I see between a dozen and 30 everytime I go trout fishing up there...

Re: Local turkey hunters

The Turkey Tuneup at Sutherland is Feb 24, from 9am-2pm. The deadline to be entered in the hunts at Sutherland is 1pm that day. If you want official info, send an email to Sharon Smith (SSmith@sandiego.gov) and she will put you on the mailing list and email you the info on the tuneup.

Re: Local turkey hunters

I've never hunted turkey but may have to do it this year. Just like Brent my wife is going to shit when I tell her I want to shoot a turkey.
