If any of you guys out there know of anyone with puppies now or coming soon please let me know. I don't have a preference between yellow, chocolate or black. All I am looking for is one that does not have eye, ear, or hip problems, come from parents with a good tempermant and come from aprents with hunting backgrounds. If it is papered great, but that is not a deal breaker. I am willing to pay for one if the price is reasonable. I figure I have until next season to get the dog up to speed for hunting.

My good friend is a breeder and has 10, 4 day old chocolates. I have one of his female blacks that is two years old and is a great retriever. The Stud is a choc about 100 pounds. If your looking for a larger specimen of the breed PM me and I will forward you his name and number. He is in the riverside area.

My female Febe' which in reality is her step sister is 65 lbs. We had her spayed a few months ago and is a bit healthy, if you know what i mean but none the less, his pups as a result of the sire are larger versions of the breed. They are VERY strong swimmers, broad chested heavy pawed dogs.

They get around alot better than the big beefy labs. What you should do is convince Mike and Bryant to have Gunner screw Bryant's bitch and call it a day. Gunner is a hunting fool and as much as Bryant hunts, his bitch has gotta have skillz as well. Shit, if that happens, I'll take one of the little fuckers and retire Cody to his spot in front of the fireplace where he belongs (although he did do OK on our last trip on the quad and later a quintuple retrieve in the canal - not bad for a 90 pound Golden from show lines - he's just so SLOWWWWWWWWW).

If you hunt from a boat, it's nice to have a smaller framed lab, especially if you hunt from a smaller boat. I have a 65' BLF, and she works great in my 14' boat.
Big dogs can "rock" little boats...
Hope that helps,
Mike

I was talking about the retriever, not the Big "Dog" driving the boat
PS......I'm more used to busting nuts with Widgnwhacker....not a Wahoo whacker... |
