I am looking to add to my Snow Goose spread. There are a ton of geese in the valley already and I was wondering if any of you guys had any you wanted to sell. Shells, floaters, full body it dosent matter.

We always used torn up little bits of old white sheets. Much easier to carry too.

The white garbage bags seem to give off too much of a glimmer/shine. There are plenty of places online to get rags for a lot cheaper than what Cabelas or Bass Pro are selling. If you really want to hunt the snows in the Union Tract fields you really need about 1,500 rags to be competitive and hope that a single goose will even look at you. As for the ponds, about 2 dozen floaters and 2 dozen shells should be plenty. Unfortunately that is what I just sold to my buddies since I can't really use all those decoys up in Alaska (no fields in my neck of the woods) mostly potholes. Anyway, good luck.

Bryant,
You're making a good but expensive move! I hunt snow geese up to 30 days a year, Canada, South Dakota and here in so. Calif. We are now hunting over straight full bodies and mounts, the birds that visit the Imperial Valley aren't as hard to hunt as the mid west birds, but full bodies definitely help.
Here's a pic of a Texas Rag spread from two years ago in Canada, we shot 30 or so birds.
Here's a pic of this year in Canada with straight full bodies, there's no comparison.
That being said I have three dozen Hereters full bodies that I'm thinking of selling, they sell for $160.00 a dozen, I'll sell them to you for $100.00 a dozen. |

He chases those little white fuckers all over North America and may have some gear to sell.

Kid,
Thanks for the offer. I might just take you up on that deal. I just bought 6 Suc Snow decoys from Cabelas as well. I was thinking half a dozen floaters and a dozen full bodies would be a good start. I saw a guy on the club last week shoot a limit with 4 floaters. Bastage!

Sounds good dude. I hunt ducks at the club. There are goose fields available where I can hunt geese only but I like to hunt the ponds on the club better for a mixture. We got 2 cacklers 2 weeks ago. Saw a ton of snows but couldnt get them down with no decoys. Its gonna be ON later this year. The next full moon shoud bring another 5-10 thousand to the valley.
BTW Nice pics.
