I think these things are BS, but we have to buy them. I think my hunting liscense is pass enough.
I buy the yearly pass for $30. You can also do the daily for $5. the yearly is good 1 yr. from the month you purchased it.
We buy one pass and get another one for our "second vehicle" for $5. I then sell one to a fellow hunting partner and we split the cost.... 17.50 each. They are supposed to ask you for the vehicles reg. but never do. If ya go up with a bud have him bring a copy just in case.
This is good for all national forests in so. ca.
The snow bunnies are supposed to have them too, so you guys that play up there may want to do the same thing.

Total crap! Thanks for the tip on doubling up! I do know that if you get a ticket, you can go purchase the pass, and send a copy with your ticket and escape the fee.

Hey, another thought here, something that's worked well for me the past few years;
Buy one day pass. There is no expiration date on the day passes that I have in my glovebox. I put em on the dashboard kinda sorta on purpose upside down. Don't know how many times I've been checked, but only once did I get a "ticket", and I just sent the pass in the mail. Only costs is the stamp.
I don't want to give these government folks any more fee money than they already get from me in taxes. Double dipping by the Gov't here methinks....making you pay fees for public land just seems wrong....

If they can't see it or the color (changes every year) they will give you a ticket. $17=3 one day passes, will get you thru the whole year without worrying about it.
