So... Now I'm all grown and have my own set of waders .
I have a reservation card #18 for this Sunday.
Marcus tells me Sundays suck as all the birds get shot up on Saturday. He says I need to shoot Geese instead as the Ducks have been slow.
Do I go out there blind without decoys and hope that something flys by shooting a full choke 30" 1100 at 75 yard birds like I have heard many do there? Or is it not worth my time.
I usually go north to shoot and have been spoiled... |
Well I just couldn't stay out of this one!
Jason you have a good card but the timing is a little early, my predictions of the birds coming down this week didn't happen. Friends of mine were there yesterday and today and they saw very few geese. The ducks have also been very slow but if you can go I would.
As far as shooting high, I try to discourage it. High shooting continues to make decoying very difficult, but for guys that don't get out much they want to get some shooting so what can you do.
A few guys here from Bloodydecks have hunted with me and know I try to land them, but, with some good concealment and patience you can get these birds in close.
I shoot snows with 3" 12ga #3's
42 snows, 7 limits from 3 different blinds last year
I'm very new to this but learning a little every year.
Be safe most of all!
