Going Duck Hunting...Finally!

My son Cory was lucky in drawing #4 for the second half opener at Kern on Saturday the 14th. He said that because I have been a good dad he is taking me with him. We both are getting a little burned out on shooting clays every weekend.

I drew #86 for today at Wister but decided to pass.

On a positive note I was informed yesterday that water is finally flowing at my usual hunting area so I see more hunts in my future.

Looking forward to busting some feathers with the boy this season.

Good luck bro. Kula's getting antsy and needs to make a retrieve soon so I am finally going to take my lazy ass up North this weekend. I hear there's been decent shooting up that way.

I was there Saturday. Hopefully some more birds push in, it was pretty slow unless you wanted to shoot ringnecks.

I told him we get to shoot two pintail each this year. He immediately interpreted that to mean he gets to shoot 4....

The things we fathers are asked to do...

I don't think my son cares...as long as it has feathers and is flying.

I thought I was the only one with 3 girls...Except my oldest is the same age as your youngest. Can't convince one of them to hunt ducks though. So it's me and the pooch.
