| Hunting rant...
Well here it goes....
Been hunting in my usual spot, seen a glimpse of a 3x3 for about 3 seconds on opening day, of course I am putting on my pack and don't have my rifle in my hands. Lots of does the next couple of days. Then I pull in at 4:45 am and its 23 degrees in the morning. Long cold day in the shade. Next time out nothing but dead stillness, barely saw a bird, lizard and a tiny snake. Next time out the wind is blowing like crazy, don't see nothing. Go out again, winds are less but still an unproductive day. Now it gets worse.
Head in with my partner and we split up to cover more ground. I had a puny doe almost walk over me while I was getting setup in my spot. I think it's a good sign. Hear 5 shots at 08:05 and another at 08:12. Another unproductive day. Having lunch and the competition (another hunter) walks up to the window of our motorhome and starts looking in. Now that wasn't cool. "Hey did you guys see anything? "No" we replied. "Well I blasted a 3x3!!" "O.K. where is he at?" "I didn't get him but I blasted off one of his antlers!!" So now I am off to bed to get up early and look for a 3x stump buck. This is the first lousy year I have had in a looong time, makes me appreciate all the good ones. I don't mind the cold, the wind, the competition, I just need to see some more deer!! Wish me luck!!

Wow... sounds like turkey hunting on public land! Guys walk between me and my decoys, looking around.. walking by like Elmer Fudd (with orange blaze hat), and asking "Have you seen any turkeys?"..... Yea....you!! Good luck.. hang in there....

It sucks but it is what it is. As long as they aren't vandalizing/stealing my shit or setting up under my nose I'm cool with all other hunters.

| Getting closer...
Guys,
Well after my rant I went to bed and woke up early to hit the hills again. Decided to take a slow walk at sunrise to look for movement. I set up in my usual spot to start glassing. I see something shiny and its the back of a deer on the other side of the mountain. It pops it's head up and all I can see is about 4 inches of the tips of her ears. I move up higher on my side of the hill to investigate. 15 minutes pass and I can't find her. Then I hear hooves kicking up rocks behind me. I look around before standing up. I stand up and glass, DAMN IT!!! Deer are on the move. I yell at them, and they stop to look. One good doe, a small bodied forkie and something else BIGGER. But I can't make it out, they are headed towards the sun and I get sunglare in my scope. Arrrrggggg!! It's not over till the fat lady sings!!!
