I sure hope so. My next bow will be a 50lb speed bow. I'm not suppose to put any load into my shoulder anymore so a lightweight, lower poundage speed bow will be just what the doctor ordered! I wonder what the brace height and draw cycle will be like though...

Tim,
This may sound odd but check out the new Bear line. It might be just what you are looking for. I just shot the new Attack and was amazed. It's smooth on the draw (single cam), 7" brace and 340 ibo. No hand shock. Fit and finish is awesome. I was amazed at the feel and apparent quality. I thought it was a huge step up from the feel of the Reezen. Bob, and I think Bruce too, is going to bring some in this year.
Personally, I think a 70 or 80 lb bow at that speed may introduce some problems. Unless your form is absolutely perfect (and when is it in the heat of the moment?) accuracy, especially with broadheads, is going to be an issue.

I've read some stories of guys who are in the same boat as me with the shoulder issues. They brought up some really good points about shooting speed bows at lower draw weights. They even posted several chrono charts of other bows in the 60-70lb range and their 50lb set-up was right there.
Do you know where I can shoot a PSE Bow Madness MC at? Not that I'm a big fan of PSE but I've read enough possitive reviews to give it a look.
Do they have some of those Bear bows at Performance Archery right now? I'd be looking for a 50lb max draw weight.

just like the old saying ...
horse power sells cars... torque wins races
and with archery:
speed sells bows... accuracy kills animals
people like fast stuff.... weather its accurate or not... people like the biggest and the baddest
ted nugent is a pretty sucessful hunter i would say.... he only pulls like 53 lbs
marketing is the driving force for yearly upgrades... better, faster, stronger!!! weather it will benifit the masses of not it still will be done so they can sell bows every year.... you know there are people that buy the latest and greatest every year...
i love my captain... and i love new tech... but i wont upgrade till my captain wont kill what im aiming
i feel the PSE is a difficult draw... feels like its a peak draw from the initial pull till the let off..... where my bowtech is more progressive till a peak right around where the let off is

Tim, not yet because the bow just dropped. Should hit shelves within a few weeks. Bass Pro sells a lot of the Bow Madness from what I hear.
You are probably on to something with lowering draw weight given your ailment. I'd also make sure you are shooting an arrow with some weight to it (I'd go at least 400 gr+) and a sharp fixed blade head.

Yes, they are manufactured by the same company but that's about where you can stop comparing bows. If speed were my deciding factor in purchasing a new bow, I would've bought the 82nd as apposed to the General on my last go around...and I sure wouldn't be shooting a Black Ice if that were the case. Allot of people get dragged into the speed idea for good reason...can you really argue with using 1-pin out to 40 yards? If you seen my pin set-up right now you'd laugh your ass off! Every 5 yards after 20 puts me under or over a deer right now!
