I know that this is old hat for most people. But were I live, people from the country say "oh you live in the city", and people in the city say "oh you live in the coutry". Ive seen plenty of Does, but the activity Ive been seeing latelly is exciting. The rut hasnt even started yet.

don't be so quick to say hunting over feeders is not hunting. Lots of people do things that some of us might not like. Like running pigs bears and cats with dogs, is it that much different then goose hunting a field that was planted or left in a condition just to bring in geese. The deer in Texas are doing good and i would say that the texas fish and game could kick our fish and games ass

Bill,
I didn't say I wouldn't shoot a deer over a feeder but I don't consider it hunting. My buddy from Texas even says it is not hunting. Sitting in a giant stand over food that is provided every day takes absolutely no skill. I am not even putting it down. It just isn't hunting, more like harvesting. c

That feeder is less than 75 yards from my bedroom window. Its there for my family and I to enjoy. When I first moved out here one of my vendors took me hog hunting with Pitbulls. He also asked me to go squrrel (skwerl...how ever the fuck you spell it) hunting. I skipped that one. Thats way too "duelling banjos" for me!

My high school buddy lives out that way in a town called Leander. Built his own home out there as he is a GC. Huge walk in smokehouse too. Never heard the term "Beast Feast" before I went to visit him. Deer everywhere and liberal take with I believe 5 doe tags and two buck.

He had several tripod feeders as well with some very comfortable elevated hunting blinds.

I had to laugh when I saw the rifle leaning against the wall in the master bathroom. 75 yards from the crappers window was a feeder. Window sill perfect height for a rest. Take a dump, check feeder, shoot deer, flush...

Only in Texas....
