duck boat project part 2

ok got the prodrive mounted and even ran it for a few last night. Runs clean and smooth next up finish the decking and remove the damn carpet. Picking up some lights from harbor freight tonight i am thinking 4 100w h-3 halogens will light the front up and one flood out the side for setup. Taking the bind off the old boat and mounting it as well in the next day so we can finalize seat placement

That is Tia the not so little puppy 50 something lbs already

shes a beauty... and the boat looks good too... hahahah

im still amazed at that motor.. it trips me out

for your side light... what about using a boom for it?... like the removable post running/ anchor lights most small boats have with one of the quick conncetors/ mounts

it will get the light up further so when your setting up and look or walk back to the boat your not totally blinded and it will be easier to see with the light higher no crazy shadows.... they you can get a rubber oar mount (rubber "C" looking things) to hold it in place for storage so it doesnt get beat up... or make it small enough to fit in the gun box

Fiddy lbs.!!!! WTF is she on steroids! I know you wanted a plow but dayam. Gonna need a lift to get her in the boat!

I keep thinking about adding some lights up front but I think I would just end up busting them off or the dog, kids would.

How loud is that sucker. I saw one on the river and seemed loud to me. My 4 stroke sounds like George Jetsons ride!

Great start! That big crank, is that a manual tilt/trim adjuster? How much does that motor weigh?
I have a buddy with a 36hp short tail (can't remember the brand/make), he gets along at a decent pace pushing a 18' hull. Great in the mud and weeds, but not so much on sandbars.
I dig the sound, like a lawnmower on steroids, they don't rev too high.

Its not crazy loud. well ok next to my 15hp its a 747 but next to the air boat it's quiet as a mouse.

Grab some lights from Harbor Freight like 25 bucks for 100w h-3 halogens. If they break just get more once you run them you will give up on the hand held lights.

The crank is the trim adjustment. Once on step you just crank it till the prop is half in and half out of the water. Lucky for us not as much sand as mud. Sand is tough no matter what you run unless you got bucks and a airboat. 270lbs the motor is a pig!!!! and she runs at around 4200 RPM

Hey, if you live up north, wouldn't Lake Elsinore fit the bill for a test drive with that rig? The south end is pretty shallow and marshy.

Yeah Elsinore might work but we are just going to drag it down to the duck camp and go for it! no pain no gain
