New law waiting for gov to sigh

We are writing to inform you of pending legislation that will restrict purchases of handgun ammunition in California and will terminate our ability to service your needs for certain products.

On Friday, Sept. 11, the California Assembly passed Assembly Bill 962, by a 44-31 vote.

Among other regulations, AB 962 would:
• Ban all mail-order and Internet sales of handgun ammunition.
• Prohibit the retail sale, the offer for sale or the display of handgun ammunition in a
manner that allows ammunition to be accessible to a purchaser without assistance of a
vendor or employee.
• Require that the delivery or transfer of ownership of handgun ammunition occur in a
face-to-face transaction, with the deliverer or transferor being provided bona fide
evidence of identity of the purchaser or other transferee.

That evidence of identity, which must be legibly recorded at the time of delivery, includes:
• The right thumbprint of the purchaser or transferee.
• The date of the sale or other transaction.
• The purchaser's or transferee's driver's license or other identification number and the
state in which it was issued.
• The brand, type and amount of ammunition sold or otherwise transferred.
• The purchaser's or transferee's signature.
• The name of the salesperson who processed the sale or other transaction.
• The purchaser's or transferee's full residential address and telephone number.
• The purchaser's or transferee's date of birth.

The bill is on the desk of Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, where it awaits his consideration. He will have until Oct. 11 to sign or veto the bill. If he does not veto the bill, it will become law.

I do not hunt or even own a gun but it sure does seem like everytime you turn around the Goverment is trying to make it difficult for the law abiding citizen. I sent a message to Arni letting him know that AB962 is for the people that cannot vote due to the fact they are guest of the of his prison system. Every BD'er needs to let him know we are tired of our to a rights to a quality of life being taken away

Dear Governor Schwarzenegger,

I have never written or contacted any Congress Person, Elected Official etc.... ever because I have felt that it will not help. But as I am getting older now (31yrs) I am beginning to feel like I must.
I feel that my RIGHTS as a RESPONSIBLE GUN OWNER, RECREATIONAL SHOOTER, AVID HUNTER, REGISTERED VOTER and AMERICAN CITIZEN are being attacked and I absolutely hate it! What the Hell is going on sir? If you do not VETO AB 962 you are helping the LIBERAL agenda in their underhanded movement to undermine the 2nd Amendment. And don't tell me that this is going to save lives or reduce crime by all of these hoops that WE the LAW ABIDING PEOPLE have to go through to by ammo! Criminals are going to commit crimes no matter what! They will find a way to either obtain ammo through other sources or commit crimes by other means! And yet, law abiding citizens who own hand guns, who are responsible, safe and ethical are the ones who are going to be HURT by this bill because of the ability to obtain ammunition will be greatly decreased thus affecting OUR RIGHTS TO OWN A FIREARM for PROTECTION, FOR RECREATION, FOR HUNTING AND PROVIDING FOOD FOR OUR FAMILY'S in these tough times. That's right Governor, there are still people out there who hunt to provide food for their family's to eat!
Please Sir, if there is an OUNCE of Conservative Blood in you anymore (Debatable), please VETO AB 962. WE CONSERVATIVES LIKE TO DO THINGS ON OUR OWN, WE DON'T NEED THE GOVERNMENT TO HOLD OUR HANDS AND TELL US WHAT TO DO WITH EVERYTHING! LOOK WHAT KINDA OF A MESS YOU HAVE ALL MADE AS IT IS! DON'T MAKE IT WORSE BY ALLOWING AB 962 to go on.

Here is something that any California resident can easilly do...takes but a minute...this is not some "internet" scheme that doesn't count....it's the real deal...the Governator is taking an informal phone poll on 2 very controversial bills that are through the assembley and headed for his desk to sign , ignore (which lets them become law) or veto (our hope). If you live in California and read this, please take a minute to follow up.
