use that rub and injection I said and use a basket and deep fry the breasts about 1 1/2 min to 2 min per breast unless it is over 2 lb breast then about that time per every 2 lbs... it will be good....

Very hard to spot bands on flying birds. I once got under a flyway where several thousand geese were flying overhead at 25 yards and took some 250 pics using a motor drive on the camera taking several pics per second on the flyovers. Studied and zoomed in on those pics and never did see a band on a leg. Pretty easy to spot when they are walking around though.

Here's an easy recipe thats pretty damn tasty for geese.
Fillet the meat off the breast and cut into 3/4" to 1" cubes.
Roll in flour and fry in hot,hot oil until golden brown, season with pepper and garlic salt.

I used to make jerky out my geese also.

The band was more important to me than the money so I kept it.

It has always amazed me that so many banded birds that I have shot during a season were banded in the same area on the same day from the same group and in some cases only 6 months before I "harvested" them. Most birds were only 1 to 2 years old but the oldest band my buddy got was a bird that was banded 19 years prior in Canada. The bird had survived 19 hunting seasons before it's luck ran out and the band was worn so thin it was scalloped along the edges.

Here is a couple of certificates I received on a bird from Utah and one from Canada.
I thought you said you shot those things at the local park in San Clemente with your BB gun?

Jeff, that is a K&H magnum clucker on the landyard next to my all time favorite, the model 201 tube call. I have the double cluck plus, which makes goose sounds with air going through both directions of the call, but the magnum clucker is much louder to get their attention at a distance.

Once they are coming it's all the tube call...
