Have been seeing more and more mallards flying down here by the beach. Had three drakes fly over me the other day while surfing that were heading north.
Only 17 days until the Kern opener...

hmmmm time to start tuning up the deep fryer, yummm deep fryed duck and goose YES, already got the no tox loaded up ready for high long range shooting...
Hopefully there will be quite a few less flying back north at the end of the season. Based on the band data we get back most of the honkers we kill come from Utah. It will be interesting what if any the current El Nino will cause in terms of severe winter weather that may push more birds south than previous years...
Regardless, I am looking forward to pulling the trigger...

Well dammit.... I better dust off the AA gun and get a couple boxes of black cloud....
Up in Washington the bastards are all over the Snake River.... It terrorizes you to sit there and have them fly by 10-20 at a time all freaking afternoon and you can't shoot their ass... Also consider the fact they weren't flying at 5,000 freaking feet WFO.....
