Good question. The right answer is a bad one though IMHO. Law states you must put yourself at risk to hunt with a bow in areas where personal protection is warranted.
Bad Law created by politicians working for the public trust who, do not trust those who entrust them.
If a hunter is willing to take game outside the law, taking game in an archery only area with a firearm would be much riskier than poaching out of season or unlicensed take.
I would think it would be simple enough to verify kills in certain area's and let the people protect themselves.
I never spend time in the woods without protection. Too many grizzly, cats and wolves up here in Montana. You just never know.

SIDEARMS.. right and left...one of mine holds the bow... the other holds the release!!!!
FIREARMS.. is when your pumping gas and smoking at the same time

well IMO i think you should be able to cary a pistol with certain regulations on it... such as.... open sights, short barrel length, and some sort of maximun caliber regulation... 9mm max??

im a newbie and all.... but really... have you ever heard of a hunter having a problem with anything in the woods?

unfortunately the public land people hunt falls right in the middle of a very busy, very dangerous drug trafficking corridor. Add to that the new trend of giant marijuana crops being grown in national forests. I dont think its so much any"thing" in the woods you have to worry about but instead any"one".
