That has to be BS. My 12 yr old and I just took the class yesterday. They said the card was good forever, in any state as long as you didnt lose it. I hope you are wrong because I will not sit through another one of those lame classes ever again. You guys will have one less in our local mtns. if this is true.
Bow safety and instruction lasted all of 5 minutes. The instructor had no clue what he was doing. At one point he drew a compound back and the bow was upside down. Right handed with the arrow rest on the right side of the riser. Hilarious. If you are right I encourage everyone to seek your card elsewhere.

The hand gun safety cards WERE good for life also until the state decided you need to pay again every few years to renew it.

Mark, what did you pay for your son? I thought DFG didn't get any $$ out of this stuff. I paid $10 for my son a couple years ago. I was told it was to help out with paying for the electricity and some of the brochures for the place I went.
I paid nothing to the state until I purchased the license. Unless they are going to start bumping the price up, I don't see why they would do this??? makes no sense. The course doesn't teach you shit about hunter safety anyway. It's a joke....IMO.
I took my wife through the course 15 yrs ago and decided I might as well get it too..... Just in case. I haven't seen that card since. I guess they can run your SS through to get it?
I should have became an instructor when given the opportunity 10 yrs ago.

I had to pay $10 each. It was basicly a class where old guys got to tell their stories. I was hoping for alot more info for my son that what it was. I was actually afraid of him failing, because it didnt seem like we covered enough for the 100 question test.
One guy in the class said he lost his and they wouldnt issue him another card. They did keep two different copies for records though. Its BS if they say their isnt anyway of knowing if youve already had one. Then why keep the records.
It will fn suck if this shit is true.

As far as loosing your safety cert, after a certain point i think it was 1999 you can request a duplicate. I had to do it for my stepson because he lost his prior to me "being in the picture"

In the past and still right up to next year , anyone could go to Big 5 ect. ask for a white affidavid card, fill it out , saying you had a hunting licence.and you were good. No more white cards next year.
You know with the Supper high prices they charge for licence, tags ect. they are lucky people still hunt in Ca. I bet they will fall of there high horse if we all stoped hunting for 5 years in Ca. That would make them say " Uncle "
