Dillion Reloaders

I bought a Dillion 550 about 15 years ago from a friend that was desperate for money at the time. The unit was incomplete when I bought it and I didn't reload metalic at the time, so I just stuck it in a corner of the garage.

I've been shooting more lately and I stumbled across the reloading press. It was rusted and corroded so badly it wouldn't move up or down. All the springs, etc were rusted and brittle. The 9mm dies were rusted solid. I sent it back to Dillion explaining the situation and asking what I needed to get it going. and bill me for the parts, labor, etc.

I received it back from Dillion the other day. Apparently they have a "No BS", no weasel words" warranty. The press looks like brand new. Whatever wasn't repaired was replaced. Whatever parts were missing (link arms, springs, pins) were replaced. I called them up and said there must be a mistake and was told that's the way they do business. What a company! I can't say enough about them.

Well their little marketing trick worked. I called them back on Thursday and ordered $1,100.00 in accessories for reloading. The list included: carbide .223 dies; powered case trimmer and electronic scale; extra quick change tool heads with power measures; reloading manual; HD mount; instructional cd; bench mounted HD primer swage, etc.

Now all I have to do is set it up on the bench and learn what I'm doing. I've got another 5 calibers I want to get going once I get this figured out. It's going to be a long, hot summer.

Are there any other reloaders out there.

Bill

That's nice to hear. I believe that RCBS does the same thing as well. Good way to keep customers.

Im a newb myself to reloading and my Hornady Lock N Load will be here Monday after 2 months of backorder. I've been doing some reading "lyman 49th edition" just to learn some things. I'll be loading .223/.45acp/.40 S&W.
My next problem is finding who has primers and powders in stock.

Dillon is unquestionably one of the best companies to do business with in the U.S.A.

I have the 550 as well ( bought new about 15 yrs ago ) Dropped a ammo box of 308's off the shelf onto the powder hopper. 1 phone call and 2 weeks later I had a new hopper and decided to place my boxes under the bench instead of on the shelf above. A little humiliation and some hercules powder is all it cost me
