New Goose Field - No Spec Closure

I wanted to let everyone on BD know we have a new field that was recently acquired a new field that has not been professionally hunted in 20 years. We will not start hunting it until the day before the closure, Dec. 14th. I am taking Ali, Jason and with Tim from the Fred Hall Show along for the first shoot. We only have 2 days full at the moment as we have not advertised the new field yet. If interested, please book your days through the website Home - Kill Zone Outfitters
or give us a call 888-866-5455

I can hunt 8 a day, all in ground Steel Goose pits. Very High Success rate. This new field is going to fill up fast.

I head up there July 11th. I will be posting pictures of conditions and the new field/blinds.

We are almost done with our new website as well. The new site will be completely interactive, with up to date Kill Reports, hunter picture galleries and a guide rating system. It should be the first of it's kind int he hunting industry. We want to give our customers as much info as possible before you go on a hunt.

What area? Rice field? Any water near by? Just curious, I hunted about 100 yards north of the closure, an unreal area. What kind of decoys?

We use Full Body decoys, over 500 in each spread. It is a rice field and there is a lot of water near by in the refuge.

That whole area is pretty much as good as it gets in CA.

North of 162, or south side of the closure? Do you know if the farmer is going to burn it or just leave it cut?

Focus on Specs or Snows?

Only asking detailed questions because it all plays into what part of the season might be better to consider booking...

The new field is I believe is north of the 162. Ill have pictures in 2 weeks when I head up there. The main focus will be on Specs in this field. We will not hunt it until after the closure keeping it as prime as possible. Our other field borders the delevan refuge. We shoot Snows and Specs int hat location. Between Thanksgiving and the New year is the best time to hit it. If you have a date in mind, let me know and I can hold it upto 2 weeks. The field that borders the refuge is about 35% booked already.

They only allow one asian in the pits at a time

If the guy from WON does not make it, that spot is yours. We are trying to get as much media coverage as possible.

Doves and quail get #7 lead.

I still kill ducks though, what's your excuse?

Just out of curiosity ... what kind of geese migration do you guys normally see thru Cali ?

This was one of my fields from last year....probably 3,000-4,000 birds in this wad.
