Okie,
We have two flyways that feed into California, the costal flyway brings us birds from Siberia, Alaska and western Canada. Most of these birds filter into the central valley around Sacramento. As far as geese, Specs, western honkers(8-12lbrs) Aleutians(like your midwest lesser) some Cackler and lessers, not many and of course snows. Our snow geese are almost pure white like the east coast snows but every year we're getting more spill over snows from the central flyways.
In southern California, most of our birds filter in from British Columbia and Saskatchewan, down through Montana, Utah, Nevada and into southern California. We don't get many big honkers in southern California anymore, but we do get snows with more and more blues showing up all the time.
