| any trappers?
Season starts on November 10th up here. I am stoked! 3 dozen 120 conibears, 2 dozen 330 conibears, 2 dozen #3 coilsprings, 1 dozen #4 coilsprings and a couple dozen snares. I have plenty of trap dying to do when I get home tomorrow along with making some fur stretchers. Going to be busy the next 2 weeks before I have to go back to work.
Any other trappers on this site? If so where and for what do you go after?
Good luck this season!

I used to trap Muskrats and Racoons with my brother back in Connecticut in the early 70's. We used head traps on rats and coilsprings on the coons. My mom used to love having the skins stretched in the garage... not!

Nothing like some dried beaver nuts...you are supposed to eat them..right? I'm not too keen on hacking on ice to get critters out so no aquatics for me. Going to Lake Louise and go back to a cabin way back for about a week. Lots of fox and plenty of lynx. With top end lynx going for $350 or so, could make a pretty penny if ya get just a few a week. Come December and January I'll trap around Homer and work the mountains across the bay for a wolverine and load up on mink, coyotes, and hopefully a wolf.
I'll try and post some pictures on here of my adventures.

I trap, just not this year. In CA I am only allowed to use cage traps. Believe it or not I still have a good amount of luck. Mostly bobcats and Fox with an occasional coon thrown in. Coyotes are extremely cage shy so...they are few and far between.

When I was living in Long Beach, CA, I'd slay the possums in the live traps. If I was more into trapping when I was in California, I for sure would have hit up the greys and cats. A little bit more accepted up here and able to find more people willing to teach me some things about getting some fur.

I trapped all through college (fox, coon, mink, muskrat, coyote) when fur prices weren't worth a dam. I have been reading that prime coon will bring $50 this year, I could get 10-15 20-30lb coons a night back then, $400-500 a day isn't too bad. Sure would be fun but won't have the time.
Post up the pics. I will appreciate them.

I've heard the raccoon prices have tanked this year. People are lucky to be getting $20 for them. See how I do on the lynx since they are asking about $300+ for them and a wolverine or wolf is up there as well in the $600 range for top furs.

Its a little different than driving big ships and gaffing fish, ain't it Ethan?
I saw Mikey and Bill the other day. They were in town for a visit, (I guess Mike is staying here for a bit.), and we had a few beers.

this year Western Bobcats are estimated to go between $600 and 1k. I'll start running when the temps drop a bit and the furs prime up a little. Theyre not blue anymore, but they're still not great right now over here.
