they are Magpie Geese, And they are great eating

well we don't have typical Seasons in the Top end of Australia,
only the "Wet" and then the "Dry" Seasons,
it usually starts in September through to end of December, best Shooting is usually in October, November
depending on the rain
which usually starts to fall in November
then the geese can spread out when water becomes available all over the place
