I hunted kern for the opener drew #16 on the resi.It was phenomenal we got to pick area 2. A short paddle in our 10ft boat and shoot time came and it was sick.I could have had a limit out on teals in the first half hour i held out till i could clearly see what i was shooting at, and made my shots ended up with five geenheads one young sprig( no pins yet) And one drake gadwall.I also ran out of shells at the end had to bum a couple from my buddy to finish up my limit.I was checked by the warden he was in a kayak hiding in the reeds watching our every move.He did count our shells and checked our guns.I just got back today hunted the kern in the afternoon and it was no comparison same spot same warden checked us and more hunters were there but the birds are already figured out the game. It was tough one ringneck and one cinnamon teal was the total. And the weather was cold and windy go figure! Anybody going to wister for the opener? I'll be there.Good luck Shoot straight!

Shit just looked at the weather for wister opener 98degrees that sucks.Imagine sitting in that heat with waders? I mean its nomally hot opener but frigen almost 100 isn't my idea of duck hunting.I think north might be the way to go.

which way do you go???

Yah, that'll run a bunch of folks out of there early. Sunday card holders and sweatliners might have a shot at getting a decent blind. Take the waders off until you need them. You won't be the only guy hunting in his skivvies.

I don't mind hunting in shorts. Going to bring a couple rods in case the birds don't want to cooperate. There's always new areas to check out too.
