| The duckcutter is ready!
Well got my gatortrax duck boat blind built finally. Its 17ft 1/8 aluminum fully welded hull with a beavertail long tail kohler 27hp for power.I had to drive out to Klammath falls oregon to buy it Cause they are so rare in southern cal.
The blind i made myself with some help from my hunting buddy (rightside) Dave. Its made of 1 1/4 conduit which is bent and fasten to the transom and bow pivoting from both ends.I used a heavy duty vinyl material as a wind break pop riveted to the gunnel and zip tied to the conduit. After we got that up we installed a honey combed plastic netting to allow us something to tie the tanglefree fast grass. Here are some pics of the project in several stages. The last picture shows it in the towing and driving position you set out your deaks and then pull up the blind and shoot!

Nice!
How far do you have to drive to shoot?
I'm in the same process and made the netting longer so I can roll the grass up and tuck it in when transporting or else the wind is going to beat the shit out of it, I'll drive 150-180 miles one way. I didn't make a wind stop because it's a non issue where we hunt.

Mike i wouldn't worry about rolling up the grass. You'd be surprised at how strong it is.

That's a cool looking rig. Something about shooting firearms off a boat sounds like a good time.

Looks like a nice rig!!
Yup, just fold it in the middle (in towards the boat) and lower the blind....Lots of zip ties is good advice also.

Great boat. Gotta love the beaver tail mud buddy type motors. I've been in one of those boats and they are very cool. Nice job.
