| Serious Warning for All Dog Owners!!!
This ain’t no joke!
I pulled into my driveway last Friday afternoon. I noticed a lot of bees buzzing around outside. Not a real thick swarm, but maybe a hundred bees scattered around the area. Not a tight pattern. I didn’t think much of it. I stepped out of the truck and was attacked! I had a few stuck in my hair and was doing the ‘crazy freak out dance,” while trying to find the key to the front door. I was stung in the ear and on the back of my leg. It was like an Alfred Hitchcock movie.
I called a bee exterminator. He told me to wait a few days, as these “africanized bees” will probably move on.
An hour later, my neighbor comes knocking to let me know about the bees. He had taken both of his dogs, Australian Shepherds, to the vet. When he came home about 3pm, he found one dog in the kennel unresponsive. The bees were swarming around her. She was covered in bees. The gate was open and the male dog was gone. He took the female straight to the vet. He raced home to find the male dog buried in the bushes in his front yard, unresponsive. Bees were in his ears, nose and mouth. He raced to the pet emergency hospital. Both dogs were in bad shape.
I called my neighbor last night. Both dogs died! As you can imagine, my neighbors are crushed. They don’t have any children. The dogs are their children.
I guess the lesson here is that - if you kennel your dogs, bring the dogs in the house if you see bees swarming.
The bees were gone the next morning.
Can someone please copy this and post it in the Campfire Section, or the most popular section, of BB.com?

their is also some kind of attraction or vibe that bee's get around dogs, this has happend twice in different years hunting in the valley, we were quail hunting and just walking by those white bee boxes, not even close about twenty five yards and the bee's swarmed and attacked my labrador, completely attacking him and not us,we all ran like hell including my dog, made it to a irrigation channel were the dog jumped in to save his ass. both times we were not shooting or making excessive noise and were some distance away, thay just went after the dogs.
sad to hear about your neighbors dogs.
