I am located in the Calipatria area in the Imperial Valley. We have an area on the Alamo river north of town. We clean our combines at the end of the harvest and end up with a little grain laying around. It's always gone by Sept 1. Took a drive through the yard and there must have been 500 mourning, white wing and Eurasians on the ground and another few hundred roosting.............Looks like it's going to be good if we dont get rained out.
Thanks for the info.I'll be hunting the opener this year after skipping the last couple. My buddys 10 yr. old son just passed his hunter safety and we are going to take him out.We all know there will be a monsoon right before the opener that blows all the birds out.Happens almost every yr.
