Some cool stalks, did you get anything besides the porcupine and prairie dog? How much penetration do you get with your tradional bow at 60 yards? I would think that is a little far on an elk even with a compound.

I pull 73-pounds out of my bear. With wooden or the heavy Easton 2020 alluminum arrows at 50-60 yards I can't pass-thru a big mulie but the arrow will still penetrate both lungs. With my Easton AXIS carbon arrows, many arrow will pass right through a deer at that range. THe difference in penetration between then was huge which is why I switched to them. Glad you liked the film, I should have my moose video out next. Cody is working on it as we speak. The wind was a problem I didn't realize was such a big problem. That's why I had to do some voice overs, the winds made it impossible to hear us. Glad you liked the video. Marty

Some cool footage in there. Taking on that country with a recurve is gnarly. The only thing I would recommend is a little editing. Making a it a bit shorter with just the "meat" of the footage would make it easier to download and watch.

I agree. It was like watching the "Huntley" show on VS. You watch him stalk for a half hour (an hour and 10 minutes in this case) only to find out that he didn't get to seal the deal. Don't take it the wrong way, it was some pretty cool footage of some stalks and bitchin' country.
Heh Heh, he said "bitchin".

Re: FINALLY! MONTANA ELK-MULIE HUNT VIDEO

awesome video man. lots of animals to look at.
even then, still looked like a tough hunt, especially with the bow.
i, myself hunt the CMR, the Breaks North of Jordan.
and it holds some great mulie bucks. im thinking about getting a bow and also hunting the elk in the breaks. because im sure you know the chances of drawing a rifle permit for the breaks is small. like 2%.
i just wanted to ask, were you hunting the north part of the river or south?
again awesome vid, i need to get myself to tape some of my hunts, gives me something to do in the off season.

I was south of the river and the forest fires had cut right in between the river and the area I was hunting. It was a great hunt, tough hunt and very deceiving landscape to range and stalk in. I'll do it again! marty
