| Re: A bad first youth elk hunt
You never know what is watching you when your in the woods. I was on a wild pig hunt at Cedar Canyon and was up on a ridge glassing when I noticed two bowhunters below me in a canyon some 400 yards away. I was looking at them through my bino's I caught some movement behind them. A mountain lion was stalking them, creeping from bush to bush as they moved forward. I tried to yell to them but they never heard me.
Later that evening I told them what I saw and these guys were in disbelief...they never heard or saw anything sneaking up on them. Bill Taylor, who operates Cedar Canyon, told me later that he shot a big cat on the property that was killing the piglets and some of the deer.
It just goes to show you, sometimes you are the hunter, while other times you are the hunted...
