WA snow goose

Moved up to WA this summer and I'm slowly learning the local spots. Luckily two of the owners at my new job are duck nuts. One of them actually talked me into taking time off work last weds. morning for a early shoot at some widgeon. (Sorry no pics)

This morning we went for snows about 15 mi. away. Only got to shoot till about 10am because they had other stuff to do. We ended up with 6. The snows up here are very decoy shy. Almost better off sitting away from your dekes.

Darn, I hate when someone has to talk me into taking time off to go hunting.

I do not put out as many deks late in the season either but I usually just hunt ducks. Sometimes I don't put any out just bundle up and use the coots as deks. The birds we saw this weekend were pretty wary.
