except 1 rooster and a lone dove.
I left San Diego at 0430 with the dog and headed east to the IV. Found a field that was not posted and looked good, tall grass with frest cut alfalfa around. Walked the dog throug it and turned up nothing. Drove around for about 30 min and found another field with waste high alfalfa. This field was big about 5 acres. Walked the edge all the way around. My lab was doing great quarting and kicked up one rooster. Dropped him at about 45 yards with the 1 1/2 oz. #6's. Dog retrieved him to hand and flushed one hen on the retrieve. Walked two or three more fields, and it was getting too warm for the dog.
I did find a nice field that was being plowed. There was a small tree line on the edge and lots of dove flying into the trees. Put on the camo and sat in the shade. I did shoot over a box of shells and only dropped one dove, I suck.
