Back from the taxidermist

My kids and I community shot this redhead at San Jacinto in november. We bagged 6 that day and it was the first redheads I've bagged in 28 years of duck hunting

Re: Back from the taxidermist

Sweet mount.

First redhead? Really. Guess it depends on where you hunt. I've seen them out here as well as in the mid-west. They usually decoy well and aren't what I would consider one of the smarter ducks.

Re: Back from the taxidermist

yea, after 28 years we actually got 9 this year. 6 at San jacinto, 1 at Kern and 2 at mendota. We decided to pose him in the last position we saw him in before we perforated him with #2's,3's and sixes.gunz

Re: Back from the taxidermist

Great job on the Redheads. I can remember my first wack at them in the late 1970's after not killing or seeing one for many years. They make a great mount. This pair are my first. Stan
