Well I decided to do a walk on, or what some people call waiting in the sweat line. Well getting on was no problem, in fact we had 7 walk on's. Well the luck of the Irish must of been upon me, for I drew # 2 pick.
We I decided to hunt blind # 14 I did not think we would get too lucky, because, for the most part you hunt from the boat, since the blind is so big, hunting from the bank is a big crap shoot. well I set up way in back, I brought another hunter with me, since he had a shitty pick, I set him up front. TICK TOCK 2 minutes before shoot time....a hen mallard drops within 10 feet of me. then 3 teal flew in.......the mallard flew off, but 3 other birds came in to take her place, but I could not see where they landed. Then 2 more CIN teal flew in....BOOM BOOM BOOM down they both go. A hen and a Drake. And OF COURSE AS I stand there with a EMPTY GUN
the three teal and the other 3 BIG birds flew right over my head,.
then all was quite in back where i was. My partner was throwing some round out front, I saw one birg bird go down. Later I found out it was a canvas back.Still quite it is about 9:30 now...i am have asleep..when something caught my eye....HOLY SHIT a nice flock of CIN TEAL...and boy could you see the colors so nice....But of course you can see so well...because they were dropping right on top of me. BOOM BOOM yes only 2 BOOM's BUT 3 dropped.
I dropped a drake and hen with the first round and a another hen with the 2nd round. A nice tripple. That pretty much all I got today, My partner brought down, the canvas back, 2 cin Teal, 1 green wing teal, and one drake ring neck. no limits but 10 good birds. and a great hunt.
I was going to call and see if you were out there. Have a pond on BLM land where there are always 8-10 duck, including some malards and some other nice ones I can't identify. I was working, but was going to show you where. Oh well....
