Just got back from G-1 late buck. Party of 4, I only had a bear tag. These 2 bucks were shot 50 yards apart within 10 minutes of each other. I kicked 1 buck off the top of the hill and my friend shot him. Then as I was heading down the mountain towards the first buck, I kicked out another buck, and another person in our party shot the second one. Finally had cold, wet, good deer hunting weather.

Sorry, photo was taken from camera phone. One buck was a 4X4 at 21 inch spread. The second was a BIG 2X2 with a 22 inch spread. The 2X2 outweighed the 4X4 by 20 pounds.

We saw some bear sign but no bears. There are 2 bears in the area but the brush is thick...4 years ago we kicked up a 300 pounder out of the brush and it was charging right at me coming up a narrow trail. I had my rifle with me but I about shit my pants when it got within 20 yards from me. I didn't have a bear tag at that time but I thought I was going to have shoot in self defense. I was yelling and stomping my feet and he finally heard me and turned up canyon. My heart was racing for about 3 hours after that.

2 years ago, one broke into the cabin and tore all the hinges off of the cabinets. There was syrup, flour, cereal, and bear shit about 6 inches deep in the kitchen. Everything that was not canned was open and spilled on the floor. He came in the kitchen window, dented the stove, and turned the stove on. The stove was on for months before anyone came back up there to check on the cabin...Lucky it didn't burn down. The bear hung out until he ran out of food or water and then went back out the way he came.
