More chukars and pics of where they live!

Some pics form this past week!

The first Gregg and I with 9 birds, very frustrating hunting, the birds were in big coveys, no wind and two days after it had rained. This was after 7 hours of walking and seeing about 150 chukars!

Not a good pic, but this ledge has about 30 birds heading over the cliff, I never saw them again!

Somewhere in these rocks is a covey of 50 birds, I never found them again either!

Here's Gregg with our 9 birds for the day!

After I went into work for a few hours I made it up to a different spot for some good shooting, I had my limit in 3 hours, smaller coveys meant better shooting, I did come across one covey over a 100 birds!

We spent the afternoon scouting with good findings, we ran into four guys who had been walking all morning for two birds, while talking to them I could here birds calling, Gary spotted them in the binos about 200 yds from their truck, they raced over and got 3 or 4 more, while they were chasing them I spotted three more coveys from where the were parked, they had birds all over them and the terrain was rather flat :thumbs up:

Here's the total for the day, I had my buddy Gary with me who got one bird!!

When I was much younger I loved to hunt Chuckars. As you know they can run a man to death. I had an old Indian Friend hunt with me and he would use a Frisbee? he would sail it up over the birds and they would stay in the brush. He told me that the birds thought it was a hawk over then. All I know is he always had birds at the end of the day.

I've heard about that trick but I haven't tried it. I do have people ask me why I carry a hawk "screamer" call though. You want to see running birds dash to cover and sit, try that!

FISH HARD!
