My dad got me started hunting dove back when I was about 10. We hunted the opener and hunted quail a few times a year. I just totally loved it and thrived on the thrill of it. I read everything I could get my hands on about hunting, still do. Once I could drive, I was gone every weekend in the fall chasing birds and rabbits. But I never got to go big game hunting. I always wanted to, just never knew where to start. I finally convinvced my dad to buy me a deer rifle for my 17th birthday. Then about the time I was 18 or 19 I was finally able to save some bus boy tip money and went on a guided wild boar hunt on the central coast. From the moment I saw the first wild hog in my crosshairs, I was instantly hooked on big game hunting. It's been a learning experience and I made a lot of really dumb mistakes while trying to figure it out on my own. But I finally, and just within the last few years, have been fortunate enough to enjoy some success. Big game hunting has now grown to be my passion. There's not much I'd rather do. I love to fish, don't get me wrong, but there is nothing better than outsmarting a trophy animal in their element.

Scary thing, I've been shooting a high power since the age of 8 Used to go through a brick of 500 .22 in 2 or 3 days as a punk kid on the farm.
