Quail hunting today

Went out with a buddy to a new spot near Jacumba and wasn't disappointed with the amount of birds. We walk in and 150+ birds come off the roost and go in just as many directions. 3 or 4 shots fired between the 2 of us and we'll just call that a systems check (guns worked, shooters a little too early I guess). Well that was enough to wake us up and it was game on after that. We ended up with a limit and 2 that we couldn't find . Had a blast but man am I tired now. We did a lot of up and down and back and forth. My dog Coco quit about an hour and a half into the fun due to lack of training on my part and ended up being a tag-along after that. She works slow and doesn't last long (could be a good fit for another hunter on here ) but she did retrieve my first two birds like a champ! The other dog (you might recognize him) is a bird finding machine. I personally watched him retrieve three wounded birds like none other. One of the birds was barely hit and flew behind us and about 100-150 yards behind us and dude went flying after it and the next thing I heard was "good bird doggy, come, come, drop it" I couldn't believe he found that thing.
All in all a very fun morning spent with a good friend and our dogs.

Bonus picture with a question: would you shoot? I had this guy at 20 yards about two weeks ago but couldn't do it. I meant to post this picture and question up earlier.
