This "poor little guy" helped send someone to the hospital! Let me explain a bit. 20 minutes or so before I shoot this deer we hear shooting off in the distance. This deer basically runs up on me and I take him at 30 yards. We see he was recently shot in the back leg and know it was from the shooting we heard 20 minutes earlier. So we bone him out on the spot and pack him back to camp. Once at camp we see a truck nearby that has stalled and see these guys getting into another truck. A little later some someone comes by and puts gas in the stalled truck, get it started, and come by to ask us how we are doing. He tells us that they just had to rush their buddy to El Paso as he just broke ankle. While they were tracking this deer that he shot in the back leg, a rattler struck at him and he jumped off a 10-15 foot cliff to evade (there are no 10-15 foot cliifs anywhere around where we were but Texans' stories are always bigger). You should all be thanking me for taking this ferocious beast out! Besides, he will taste good...

Yup - glad we didn't run into those dangerous asses this year! We avoided that mountain range the first day. Lots of people hunting that area now, but we only saw two people NOT road hunting this year.

Did you offer them any meat since they obviously had to get there friend help and they shot the deer first?
In the hunting world ...how does it work when you shoot a deer that someone else already shot and was making an effort to track it but is injured in the process of tracking and is unable to keep tracking?
Is it like "Finders keepers... Losers Weepers? Just curious as to who should of actually got to keep the deer.
The ones who shot it first ,or you cause you killed it and were able to get it and they couldn't do to an injury to a friend that needed medical attention.
Seems like a weird situation to me...can someone explain
