1st duck(s)

For my son (10). Good times.

Wigeon 1st!
Wigeon & Ringneck
Mallard
Carnage for the morning. couple mallards a pintail a few wigeon and the rest ringnecks.

We had lots of divers around us in the morning going about mach 2. I told him to wait until a nice slow moving puddler came in. It didn't take to long. There was a guy next to us that shot first. That got everything moving. He saw it fist and I told him to get ready. It was about 25 yds from us doing the helicopter thing. TAKE HIM I shouted...a little loud. He dropped it 1st shot. High 5's all around. The pressure was off and we continued on. Stayed in the blind longer than usual just to soak up the entire experience. He's been going hunting with me since he was 3 but this was his first hunt with the "big" gun. He did well and was very safe. He forgot to put turn his saftey off several times but that's a good thing. He hit a couple with the .410 too. I had to finish them off for him. I really enjoyed backing him up. He was having a rough time with the ringnecks.... but everyone does.

Can't wait til we go again. Good times.

Congrats to your son and his first duck. Nice bag! I like those Ringnecks, they taste like little Redheads.

Thanks guys. Good times for sure.

He told me those ringnecks fly to darn fast. He thought the noise they made flying over us was the wind.

congrats for you and your son. I had mentioned duck hunting to my son and he wont stop bugging about it. We are going to hunt later in the season. I still have deer to chase.

Good seeing you out there Mikey and congrats to your son. Thats a nice Mallard for sure....

On the way home, we had a blow out on the motorhome going 60 on I-8 just outside Hell Centro. Tore up a fender and made an nasty noise. Waited on the side of the highway for about 2 hrs. for repairs, then limped into Imperial for a new set of tires at Discount. Took almost 8 hrs. to get home only to find out I have a water leak in the main under a concrete slab in the front yard that has been leaking since I left. I guess its a sick day for me to hammer up some crete and find the leak. Other then that we had a great time on the water and found some new spots as well.
