How not to post HUGE pics

I have reduced my photo to 173x129 at 17kb as a .gif file, saved to the gallery and I still can not attach it to my signiture, what am I doing wrong?

got it. Why do we have to upload to the gallery to be able to write text in between pics? I can upload several pics from my computer, but they all post in sequence, and during "preview" I cannot put text in between pics. Do we have to put up pics in the gallery, then copy/paste the url from the gallery, seems like too many moves.

I'm gonna' get beat for saying this, but on another site, you browse your computer, choose the pic, upload, preview, and start new text after the url, browse,upload,preview,text........... it's soooo easy, can this be done here???
