Novice Trolling Lure Maker - Bleeding Mac

Started a new hobby. Got great tips from Jim, Garrett and Miguel about 2 months ago. Been playing with resin/catalyst mixtures. Here's my latest. It's work in progress. I hope to "field" test in the East Cape this August.

Nicely done. In one of my posts, I mentioned the innovative K. O. Dean lure which came out in the early 1960s. I said that it influenced many styles of lures that came later. Your lure is the back two-thirds of a K. O. Dean. Yours is the same shape as the Bomboy Locknut. Bomboy's dad, Kenny, says he made the original locknut by cutting off the front third of the K. O. Dean lure. K. O., by the way, was a friend of Kenny, Bart and me.

Gentlemen,

Thanks for the kind words and encouragement. This "hobby" sure is addicting! I couldn't have gotten up the learning curve quickly without the advice of many of you. It's amazing how much one can learn from this board/members!

Jim,

Thanks for the historical insights. I'm both appreciative and respectful of the history and legendary fishermen behind the head design.

Will continue to try to improve with each head I pour.
