Yeah, it was mailed to me from WESPAC and its part of their 145th meeting managing offshore fisheries for the US Pacific areas. I went to a few meetings before on Oahu, really interesting hearing what they had to say. I wish I could go to this one but I've already planned a trip. I wanted to hear them talk about the bottom fisheries/closures, tuna quotas/management and whatever else is being planned for us local fishermen. The council meetings are from 7/22-25. It would be nice if more fishermen could be involved in the future of our fisheries...

Hopefully they will put the proper quota on it so that you guys can sustain the fishery and still put food on the table. I hope it works in your favor Randy.

We're not killing the fishery.. its the longliners. Approx 50 to 1 capture and kill ratio. I just quoted low because its higher than that. Quotas should be on them but we get punished anyways because we are the easy target. Easier to manage us than to fight the foreign guys. So Wespac.. to me ... is basically greenpeace in disguise. Quota on us but not on the foreign guys... fuckin stupid.
