Even if you don't KILL it...let us know!!

I for one am interested in how you did even if it sucked, and I'm sure others do to, because then we won't waste the time and fuel chasing nothing...lets help each other out here!

I'll start.

Went to CO Friday and Saturday. Good bite in the afternoon, 20-30 lbers with smaller rats mixed in. Then we went yesterday, same time same place, and it was dead!! Only a few mice but we had to work for em.

Aloha...Jeff

Dated info: Sat 5/30/09 Had every intention of doin' the ledge at the point... Launched 4:40 and as I exited the hardor there were a fair number of boats heading towards CO so changed my plans , they must know something. First pass on CO at 5:45, not much happenin' but the boats are comin. Bounced between the 500 and 1000 then headed towards the 1500, 29 and 106 decide to point it towards the pinnacle. About 5 miles into my efforts find some debris but could round up any criiters.

As i am heading towards the pinnacle see 2 boats inside of me on the horizon, Oh why not, so I turn left about a mile and a half from the boats the short corner takes off (purple softhead) a blue less than 200 pulls its typical stunt(it hurts i have a hook in my mouth) facing the boat throwing its head back and forth I sure like it when they turn and run, gives me an opprtunity to clear some lines. So while attempting to clear lines the blue comes unbuttoned. As i get closer to the boats I see they are moving slow and and someone is in the back of each of the cockpits (must be debris). First pass the 5 incher gets bit but doesn't stick. never get a good look at the debris (20 at 95) but it is a good size pile of shit. reel up and put out a couple of secret weapons next 2 passes get a dink mahi (10-12 lbs) each pass. Now the crowd is coming. Make another pass but nothing now there are 7 boats and to avoid the frustration I set back up and troll. Get 2 ono bites and then see a small marlin thrashing something on the surface, pretty cool site.

Still got a long way to go and the day isn't waiting for me so i head it towards the harbor. I understand the boat that found the debris first thing ended up with 60 mahis (second hand info), obviously they had bait.

Hey Jeff, you want to talk bad luck? At least you got out there and got some fish. You must have heard from Matt that we couldn't even start the darned truck to pull the boat today. Had to pick up stuff to fix it instead of fishing. Didn't sound like the fish were biting anyway today, so better we fix things now before Ahi Fever. Heard you also fixed your heating problem so you are good to go. Congrats on that.

Hey Cliff, yeah I heard the truck didn't want to go...that sucks, I've had that happen with both truck and boat batteries before! Nothing like trying to find a battery at 5 am in Kaneohe on a Sunday!

Feels good to have the boat running top notch. Took a while and some $Kala, but ended up being something really simple, I'm sure matt told you. Now we can run full throttle all day without issue! Ready to chase ahi!

We ended up going yesterday, went to the MM area, and then beyond. Nothing on the outside, not even a scratch. Picked up 2 large kawakawa, an ono, and the infamous kaku on the way home outside Sandys...12 hr day.

When you guys going again?
