Matsu pearlhead and Super Ninja (I think I mentioned in a previous thread that if this lure had a vagina I'd marry it.)[/QUOTE]

Thats hilarious! Super Ninja is definitely one of the nicest lures. Looks like that Ahi thought so too. Whoa those yellow fins in the picture is getting me a little excited...

Here are a few of my standbys.

From the top. I got this one from Hawaii Fishing Lures - they provide a quality product and great service. The first time out with this one I caught my biggest fish to date - a marlin that was over 400# that we released. Since then this lure has caught everything except an ahi for me. I like to run this one from my center rigger at the tail end of the white water.

The second lure is a shell head that my cousin gave to me in the early 1990s as I was outfitting my first boat. He is a life long Hawaii fisherman who has lived in Kona since 1990. This one has also been a great producer on all fish. Although I run this one almost everytime I go out, I have never changed the skirts and they are really starting to show some wear.

The third lure was also from my cousin. He gave this one to me four years ago when I picked up my new boat. After a quick sea trial in Hilo we towed back to Kona and completed rigging. I got out one day and this lure took an ahi hit that didn't stick and a 45# ono. When I got my boat back to Oahu it produced ono quite regularly, as well as mahi and marlin. The picture doesn't show the scars in the head too well, but it is also chipped in the front. I run this one behind a bird on my long rigger.

In the second picture.
The top lure is also from my cousin. I have gone through a number of these heads and this one has yet to catch anything yet, but several of its predecessors were great producers.

The two smaller lures are also from Hawaii Fishing Lures. I typically run these behind birds and they catch everything. My latest marlin - a small striper hit the smallest lure.

One of the things to watch out for with the ice blue skirts is that some of them turn opaque when wet - these are no good. Don't buy the cheap discount skirts as these almost always turn opaque. I have also had other brands do it as well. I now soak the skirts before rigging them and return the ones that turn opaque. I don't know what causes it, but from my experience the fish won't hit them. Hope this helps.

Sean the Zukers you are using are good the purple and black one has brought me luck in the past, The mean joe green works really good, no lure is really a bad one there are times the ugliest piece of shit in my arsenal got hit and it was in the water only for shits and giggles we really werent expecting anything from it. Always good to have a variety of shapes and colors for instance that purple and black you have Id have that same one in 2 sizes same color but would have purlple and black lures in different shaped heads atleast 10 the way i pack. Just make sure to have some good line on them with some good hooks and you should be fine always make sure that you look at the action of the lure as well as you troll it for better placement in your trolling setup the yellow and mex colored ones are ones id run short on the inside of my line the zukers out side of those a bit further back and the other 2 on the outsides because they will be all over the place depending on your speed. Not a bad start.
