Cliff Wyatt fly rod

It's about 8 1/2 feet long and it was made for a family member probably 30-40 years ago. Just curious if anyone has an idea about this rod. It was numbered # 7352, not sure if this is how many Cliff made, or it was a model/style. I know nothing about fly fishing, but I bet it would be a blast catching a trout or 2 on this rod.

Thanks in Advance

roger

The Only Cliff Wyatt I know lives in Co. and is 51 yrs young. He is a mechanic, but he also fly fishes. What kind of rod are you talking? Any Pixs. If this is the same Cliff Wyatt, he also posts on North American Fly Fishing.

Keep in mind, even I have made a rod before. Buy a nice glass blank from Lamiglass or McFarland not to mention big names like Sage, etc. Hand pick the striping guide and tip top. decide if I want snake guides or single foot. A nice thread to compliment and reel seat. Either buy cork handle or make my own. Just time and steady hand.

Cliff Wyatt owned Wilderness Flyshop in Santa Monica in the from the 50s through the 70s. Legend has it that he was related to Jane Wyatt, Ronald Reagan's first wife. There is a bronze placque to him on a famous pool at Hot Creek Ranch. He built many flyrods over the years and his rods were much sought after by Southern California fly fishermen. I would guess that the rod is probably a 6 wt. Cliff built bamboo rods at first and then switched to fiberglas rods. You didn't say what your rod was made with.
